Little Red of Ridinghood 1.0 release
At long, long, long last, it's here! The final update! Thank you so much to everyone for your patience!
This update completes up the story, with (well) over a dozen different endings, featuring magic, revenge, love, betrayal, and much more! Happy hunting to find them!
I wanted to make each ending special, so I made a bunch of unique costumes for the character. But then I realized how much fun it would be to wear these costumes in-game. This ended up being my favorite new feature:
"The Closet" - after you complete the game once, you will gain access to the closet (in the bedroom). This will allow you to change your outfit and accessories. Different endings give different outfits and accessories as rewards. There are 9 outfits and 15 accessories (some are combined and/or default).
Please see below for change details:
System changes/bug fixes
- You can now refuse Hans
- Fixed a redirect loop in the magic system
- Split the go-for-a-walk action into two paths (for enjoyment or for escape)
- Changed the chances for searching the room (a little easier to find things)
- Added a familiarity system for the townsfolk - nothing huge, just to make them feel a little more alive.
- Expanded keyboard interface to work with tasks & passages
- Cleaned up some book passages that accidentally skipped content
- So, so many bug fixes
Character changes
- 8 new body changes: long hair (text + image), long wavy hair (text + image), short wavy hair (text + image), lips & eyelashes (text + image), very large breasts (text + image), very large butt (text only), voice change (text only)
- Two new NPCs! The Hunter and a special Easter-egg character (found while searching the house)
New content
- Over 120 pages of new content!
- Endings! You can complete the story with 12 regular endings and many, many other special endings
- Hunter story arc
- New items to find while searching the cabin
- 20+ new conversations with the wytch/Cassandra
- All major locations have backgrounds
- Closet & Rewards! You can get new outfits and accessories as rewards for completing different endings. These are then available to wear in the closet in the bedroom.
Also wanted to add a final note, saying thank you again to everyone who's followed this game. It's been the largest project I've ever undertaken - taking nearly two years to complete. It's been a long, wild, and enjoyable journey. Looking forward to seeing you future games!

Grr... I had to check the guide to get the last ending! Got them all, now! (15 is still my favorite!)
BTW, the guide has a typo, the reward for Ending 16 is wrong
Anyway, great job! How'd you decide on this game engine? I've never heard of it before this game, but it looks interesting, and maybe pretty accessible to beginner coders?

As for the game: Twine is super popular for transformation stories, check out tfgames.site for an enormous catalog of games. It’s really easy to get in to as well, lots of tutorial videos on YouTube!
Oh, this is Twine? I've never opened one up before, but the others I've known are Twine are just text. I saw the name SugarCube in the code, didn't know that was a Twine setup. Thanks!
Yup, Sugarcube is a story format for Twine, one of the best IMHO - huge library of functions and methods. That said, the point-click interface is custom coding I did for this project, mostly CSS. If you're familiar with Twine, feel free to go in and steal my code for your own project!

Ok, here's a bug that's probably a little obscure. Minor spoilers, possibly, but I'll try. If you're completely self taught, then you ask for teaching, the "Accept Carefully" link is orange and if you click it, you get an error: Error: the passage "MagicPractice""" does not exist

Bug: When I encounter line 20908, "Wake up the next day", I get:

I found one instance where I think it is a but but I am not sure. It is when you don't have enough ingredients for the first time, and she will shrink you to the child height. The sequence skips her telling her usual phrase of transformation.

could you maybe add some kind of notification to the clothes drying for how long it will take for them to finish drying? sometimes picking a choice hinges on whether it will be done before time is up or not, so knowing would REALLY help.
After playing the game for a day, I got about a third of the endings, only missing 3,4,9,12,13,14.
Also my only complaint abou this game is a missing transformation, I think Red would look lovely with a beauty mark (either eyes or mouth, not sure which is better).
I've so far obtained endings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11, and special endings 13, 15, 17, and 18
while i wont spoil too much (unless asked), what i will say is that even a slight change in choices or a difference in choice orders can lead to new endings. I have to give it to DG, this is an impressive branching-choices-esque game that was well worth the wait.
Indeed it is an amazing game with great branching choices, so that the replayability is impressive. Must have a ton of variables to account for it.
About the endings I will wait for the guide. But I noticed a bug after sleeping with Cassandra after the last magic lesson, got a link error.
I mentioned encountering something similar when doing her lessons in an earlier post, though I haven't encountered the sleeping one yet. I think it has to do with certain choices and/or choice orders (in regards to whether you encounter them or not). But I think the problem is being caused either by an error in the coding, mislabeling of necessary files, or something along those lines.
Oh! Could you please give me a little more info about the error? I'd like to try and fix it if possible.
What was some of the text in the passage (a sentence will do), and what link did you click for the error?
I don't have the save anymore, deleted it. But I remember that it was after the last magical lesson with Cassandra, after you sleep with her and she asks you to leave with her, that is when it broke. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it is around there.

Perhaps more as a warning to others than helpful feedback: beware the "back" button.
I ran into a number of glitches that seem to purely stem from how the built-in "back" button interacts with how the game is coded. For instance, it seems that the variable handling how many days until The Ending comes to the cabin isn't reverted when using "back", so it can be continuously decremented, making the final encounter suddenly happen even if you thought you had 10 more days.
This feels like a glitch that would require a complete overhaul of how the variables are stored, so unless there's a way to lock the "back" button or at least restrict it, I don't know how one might easily fix this.

Nice Game. But I find it hilarious that the witch force you to fuck dude when you can gain Mana from fucking Cooper. Cooper is a good gal that keep my MC to learn magic without fucking a dude ever. Please make it easier to learn magic from fucking girls... Like I dunno make MC realize that she can gain mana without getting fucked by hans first. #TeamCoopertheAverageLesbianInTown
Would be funny too if Cassandra notice "Wait, you can get Mana from Fucking Girls?" she just fuck guys so much she haven't tried fucking a normal girls lol.
To tell the truth, I don't have an excuse on this one - originally I had it where you wouldn't gain magic from her...but it honestly just didn't feel right, like the game was cheating or something. Plus if there's no mechanical benefit, I worry the poor girl would get ignored.
So who knows, maybe there's something special about Evie besides her barrels? #TeamCoopertheExceptionalLesbianInTown
seems to be a graphical error with the sword of the huntress outfit when wearing the red hood (the one you wear when you go into town). The sword's handle seems to appear on the inside of the hood and thus juts through it close to the end of the handle. I believe this is merely a layering issue. as the sword's handle should be behind the hood except for any part of it that extends past the hood. the shoulder armor also pierces through the shoulders of the cloak. It also appears in front of the character's hair rather than behind it too. sadly this might mean that that might require its own artwork to correct.
Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, some of the reward costumes will clip with other artwork, I’m working on fixing that now, but didn’t think it was worth holding back the release any longer. Should have put a note in the post above in hindsight. Anyway, on the list to fix - thank you!
just found another completely unrelated message which will most likely contain spoilers
during one of the endings, while waiting for "the end" while trying to learn magic, i clicked "onto the lesson", i received an error message saying
"Error: the passage "MagicPractice"" does not exist
it might be because it had 2 " at the end, or something or maybe the file was mislabeled, causing the game to fail when trying to locate said file. either way... something buggy's going on there.
Edit: I think the text that causes the message to appear shows as red whenever its option is presented. it doesn't always cause it in all of the scenarios that the prompt appears in, but when it does, at least it changes the text color to reflect that something isn't working right with it.
Let me ask you one thing. The hunter came in my game at day 16, I find that too early, as I want to enjoy the game a bit more. Can you add some option so you can make it take more time for it to appear? So I don't hit an ending too soon, before checking all interactions.
Thank you, that’s great feedback! The hunter timing was a very difficult choice. If you’re chasing down several plot lines, it can feel too quick, but if you’re only maintaining the house, it could feel really slow and boring. In the end, I opted for less time, keeping the pressure on the player. I figured it’s better to end too fast and leave the player wanting more than to go too slow and leave them bored.
Maybe a mechanic where you have to initiate the hunter arc…will think about it. Thank you again for the message!
A mechanic to initiate the hunter arc would be nice. It would give the player more choice in enjoying the game, and not needing to rush. I like playing the game slowly so I can check your incredibly detailed descriptions.

Is there any way to get hints on completing endings if players get stumped/stuck? I would like to get the betrayal & revenge endings out of the way ASAP because they're the two endings I'm looking forward to the least. It would be nice for instructions on how to reach those two endings as quickly as possible.

Found a bug. Minor spoilers ahead.
After finding Cassandra's Locket, and doing some story-related stuff to it directly, you can find the original again when searching the cabin.
Would also like to suggest that Clara's Doll simply zero out your horny meter. It doesn't use up any time, so you can basically reuse it multiple times with no penalty. Alternatively, it just costs 1 minute to use. I prefer the former, but for balance the latter is probably better.
I've also noticed that the Boob Potion doesn't seem to actually change your size at any point. If this simply requires multiple uses, that would explain what happens. Although I wouldn't mind a secret maximum size that only happens when the boob potion is used at the largest size Cassandra will get you to.
